ICT and data centre services

As part of its continuing commitment to adding value, TSP offers an extensive portfolio of ICT services to its client companies. These include, a wide range of network and Internet connectivity services from broadband to leased lines, on-site Data Centre provision and a multiple telecommunications operator presence.

TamarNet Lite

A managed, shared broadband connectivity service delivered straight to your unit. TamarNet Lite is an entry level product suitable for single user or small business clients located on the Park.

TamarNet Connect

For Clients with greater data transfer demands, TamarNet Connect offers a higher speed service with a generous monthly usage allowance. TamarNet Connect is suitable for growing companies dealing with larger volumes of data – eg web developers.
Managed firewalling is available on both TamarNet Lite and TamarNet Connect.

TamarNet Advance

TamarNet Advance provides a symmetric service with low contention and is suitable for businesses with more advanced connectivity needs requiring multiple global IP addresses. It is similar to, but exceeds the specifications of SDSL based services. Clients subscribing to this service provide and manage their own routers.

TamarNet Private Bandwidth

For Tamar Science Park clients with more demanding connectivity needs, requiring guaranteed rates, TamarNet offers dedicated 1:1 private bandwidth as a leased line equivalent. Bandwidth is available in increments of 5Mbps and can be turned up or down on a monthly basis

N.B. All TamarNet services are delivered over Ethernet and therefore do not require additional phone line rental.

HotSpots

This service allows you to obtain Internet access via wireless and wired connections for use in TSP meeting rooms, conferencing facilities and ParkCentral Bistro. It is offered free of charge to TSP Clients when making a room booking and is provided with a relevant duration of usage.

Telephony Services

TSP Clients may subscribe to a range of in-house, managed business class telephony services including; advanced handset and line provision, voicemail, conference calling and call routing options such as automated attendant and hunt groups. TSP can assist with non-geographic number provision (eg. 0845, 0870 etc) and subscribers benefit from preferential call rates.

Data Centre and Data Safe

Our on-site Data Centres are secure ICT co-location environments, protected by resilient air conditioning and UPS plant, CCTV, access control and monitoring systems for you to install your own server and network hardware. Based in Phases 2 and 4, the Data Centres are backed up by high capacity standby diesel generators and provide clients with the opportunity to host backup or server clustering facilities across two physical locations using the Park's high speed secure LAN infrastructure or point-to-point fibre links.

The Data Centres are directly served by three telecommunications carriers on-site and in the case of Phase 4, this includes dual diverse ducting paths from each.

Individual secure pods in our UL Class 125 fireproof data safe, located separately from the Data Centres, are also available for rental to protect your backup media or other critical components.

All Client units are pre-wired with CAT5e/CAT6* cabling for voice and data needs.
TSP also provide Video Conferencing facilities from our meeting rooms through the Conferencing Services Team
