Tamar Science Park is a joint venture between Plymouth University and Plymouth City Council. As part of the exciting Growth Acceleration and Investment Network (GAIN), it provides a total business environment; supporting the growth of the sub-regions economy by providing a full range of excellent services to catalyse action in growth-potential businesses, challenging and accelerating their growth while connecting them with the resources they require.
Host to more than 80 businesses employing circa 650 people turning-over circa £95m, the Park is home to the headquarters of the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, Peninsula Enterprise, and numerous medical, science, technology and knowledge-based companies. Through strong links with the Plymouth University, Derriford Hospital and Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, Tamar Science Park is also home to many spin-out companies on the Park.
GAIN - The South West’s engine for business growth
The Growth Acceleration and Investment Network (GAIN) exists to accelerate the creation, growth and investment in high quality businesses and ideas to create wealth and jobs in the South West Peninsula.
It is a partnership founded by Plymouth University and Plymouth City Council and includes Tamar Science Park, Formation Zones in Devon and Cornwall, Cornwall Institute for Enterprise, Cornwall innovation centres, Beacon Peninsula network, University Enterprise Network and world class University R&D facilities.
